Titre : On the calculation of ducted propeller performance in axisymmetric flows Type de document : thèse Auteurs : José Alberto Caiado Falcão de Campos, Auteur Editeur : Wageningen : H. Veenman en Zonen Année de publication : 1983 Importance : 193 p. Présentation : ill. Format : 25 cm Note générale : Thesis (Ph. D.)--Technische Hogeschool Delft, 1983
Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Propellers Hydrodynamics Résumé : Some of the most important influences on the performance of ducted propellers in uniform and nonuniform axisymmetric flows are demonstrated. The viscous flow past an axisymmetric duct is analyzed for uniform axial flow and for the case when the flow can be regarded as being a part of the ducted propeller. The flow past an annular airfoil and a ducted propeller in axisymmetric shear flow is considered, and approximate numerical solutions of Euler's equation are given using a discrete vortex method. These methods are then applied to the interaction problem of a ducted propeller behind a body of revolution. The design of ducted propellers is discussed, and the results of the basic flow models developed in the paper are verified by correlation with experimental results.
